Power Boothe is a professor of painting and former dean of the Hartford Art School. He will exhibit paintings and drawings, primarily from the past three years. On Friday, April 25, at 6 p.m., he will give an artist’s talk as a conversation with the philosopher, Dr. George Smith, who is the Founding President of the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts.
Joe Fig is an artist and the author of the book,
Inside the Painter’s Studio (now in its sixth printing). He is a visiting artist at the Hartford Art School. He will exhibit photographs of his sculptures that are re-creations of the studios of well-known contemporary artists. At
1 p.m., on
Saturday, May 3, Fig will give an
artist’s talk and
book signing at Five Points Gallery.
Fig will also show work as part of the New/Now series at the
New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, Conn. The exhibition will run between April 19 and July 20, with an opening reception at
3:30 p.m. on
Sunday, April 27, with artists remarks and a book signing at the New Britain Museum of American Art.
