as Part of Hawktober Weekend

Four distinguished alumni have won the most prestigious award presented by the University of Hartford’s Alumni Association.

Winners of 2014 Anchor Awards are:

Alisa B. Coleman ‘83 of New York City, senior executive vice president of ABKCO Music & Records, Inc., one of the world’s leading independent entertainment companies. 

Judith McElhone ’88, M’94 of Torrington, Conn. executive director of Torrington’s Five Points Gallery (FPG), a nonprofit contemporary art gallery showcasing professional regional and national visual artists. 

Edward F. Peltier ‘68 of West Hartford, Conn., who served as executive director of the American School for the Deaf (ASD) from 2006 to his retirement in July 2014, and has more than 40 years of experience in deaf education

Erik G. Wexler A’83, ’85, M’87 of Boston, Mass., chief executive officer of the Northeast Region for Tenet Healthcare Corporation, overseeing the company’s nine hospitals, population health services, and outpatient centers in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.

The Anchor Awards were established to recognize alumni who have distinguished themselves by achieving the highest level of professional accomplishments and who possess absolute standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of the University of Hartford.

The four will receive their awards at a special dinner held on Friday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m. at the University’s 1877 Club Restaurant. The dinner will be part of Hawktober Weekend, a three-day Homecoming and Parents Weekend celebration at the University.
