Including composition\, values and color theory. It will cover the importance of proper observation\, lighting and learning to identify key elements in a landscape. In addition color mixing\, application and personal expression will be discussed. There will be plenty of one on one help for each student. Taught by an accomplished professional plein-air painter. \n\nRequired Materials \nOutdoor Painting Easel (French\, Pochade or other) with a palette \nPaints\, Oil or Acrylic\, all artist grade if possible: \nSmaller tubes of; \nThalo Blue \nUltramarine Blue \nQuinacridone Magenta \nCadmium Red Medium \nCadmium Yellow Lemon \nCadmium Yellow Medium \nand a Large tube of Titanium White \nOdorless Turp\, Gamsol preferred for oils \nWater for Acrylics \nMedium glass jar with cover \nA palette knife \nPalette paper (smaller size) \nCanvases any size from 12×16 to 16×20 suggested \nBrushes; Decent quality bristle brushes for oils\, Synthetic brushes for Acrylics. \n1 large Flat about 1 inch \n1 Flat about 1/2 inch \n1 medium round \n1 small round \nOther paints\, brushes and canvas sizes optional. \n\n\nInstructor Bio \nMike began drawing and painting at the age of seven. He is basically self-taught and works primarily in oil paints. Mike is a serious and devoted painter and has been working to develop and express his talent for over twenty years. During this time he has exhibited in many art galleries and art exhibitions. In all of Connecticut and surrounding states Mike finds places to paint\, explore and express his passion for the natural world.
