The Painting Lab will be open every Thursday from 10 am-1 pm beginning December 1\, 2022\, for artists of all ages and experience to develop their personal projects using their own materials and sources. There will be a still life setup and mannequins for inspiration if needed; however\, “Creative Camaraderie” is uninstructed to encourage imagination and innovation among friends old and new! \nPlease contact bgrady@fivepointsarts.org to register or just drop in! \nThe cost is $10.00 for each session.

DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Christine Mitchell \nDates: Saturday\, January 14\, 2023 \nTimes: 10AM – 2PM \nMember: $ 58.50 \nNon – Member: $ 65.00 \nThe gyotaku method of printmaking uses fish\, sea creatures\, or similar subjects as its ‘printing plates‘. It is rumored that samurai would settle fishing competitions using gyotaku prints. The original form of gyotaku\, as a recording method for fishermen\, is still utilized today\, and can be seen hanging in tackle shops in Japan. \nJoin Christine Mitchell in experimenting with this simple but beautiful printmaking technique utilizing both whole fish and also silicone cast fish forms.
