The Painting Lab will be open every Thursday from 10 am-1 pm beginning December 1\, 2022\, for artists of all ages and experience to develop their personal projects using their own materials and sources. There will be a still life setup and mannequins for inspiration if needed; however\, “Creative Camaraderie” is uninstructed to encourage imagination and innovation among friends old and new! \nPlease contact bgrady@fivepointsarts.org to register or just drop in! \nThe cost is $10.00 for each session.

DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Edward Spaulding DeVoe \nDates:  Thursdays on March 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 30\, April\, 6\, 13\, 20 \nTime: 1:15PM – 4:15PM \nMember:  $225.00 \nNon-Member:  $250.00 \nThis class will focus on individual specific instruction. Beginning students can grow at their own pace along side an advanced student who is finding their own voice. Participants will expand their knowledge of the materials and methods of painting and will be introduced to the color palette of the Old Masters\, drawing effectively on canvases or panels\, and exploring the compositional principles of the subject. \nEdward Spaulding DeVoe has indepth knowledge of the techniques of the old and modern masters and uses varied examples to assist artists in anding of what they need to learn. As this class progresses\, the instruction will focus on student-driven concepts to assist in developing own personal goals. Workshop participants will work from subjects in the studio\, but are free to paint landscapes or copy from the masters. \nRegister

Students will be taught how to use and maintain their carving tools. They will be guided through preliminary drawings\, mark making\, and printing editions.
