Learn how to print multiple layers of transparent inks and observe how images develop with lush color relationships and luminous surfaces. Participants will develop skills in color ink mixing\, color registration\, printing\, and stencil making. The instructor will guide you through each step of the process\, from making preliminary sketches\, to transferring the designs to the woodblocks\, and carving each block. In recent years\, the term “transcendental photography” has been used to describe a style focusing on the emotional representation of an image\, which produces such an effect from the interpretation of an object rather than the object itself. This workshop will examine the concepts and photographic elements used to achieve the goals of this approach\, including lighting\, focus\, exposure\, textures and environmental conditions.
