Missed opportunities\, unreliable mail\, and the ever-present threat of tragedy raised profound obstacles that would make or break their bond. This dramatization of the deeply moving real-life correspondence between two individuals proves the triumph of human connection despite all adversity. \nBased on actual love letters\, this historical drama was produced and directed by veteran TV/film actress Kathy Kelly and written by award-winning\, internationally acclaimed playwright Cinzi Lavin. \n—– \nThe cast features David Macharelli\, Olivia Wadsworth\, Robert Kwalick\, John Fabiani\, Joel Osborne\, Harmony Tanguay\, and Roni Gelormino. \nCINZI LAVIN (Playwright) Cinzi Lavin’s plays and musical dramas have been produced around the U.S. and abroad. Her career highlights include a performance by invitation at the White House in 2010. In 2020\, she was honored with an award from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) for her influence on American culture. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. \nKATHY KELLY (Director) Actor/director Kathy Kelly has appeared in numerous film\, stage\, and TV productions as well as co-starring in an Emmy Award-winning TV series. Her directorial credits include professional regional productions of Guys and Dolls\, Arsenic and Old Lace\, and Man of La Mancha\, as well as off-Broadway productions. Her past experience in arts education involves teaching positions at both SUNY Farmingdale and in Long Island University’s prestigious Theatre Department. She is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) and Actors’ Equity Association.

We will be training your hands to translate what your eyes actually see\, instead of what you THINK you see\, resulting in work that feels more alive\, immediate\, and confident. Through a series of short\, focused exercises\, students will build a collection of studies that strengthen the connection between eyes and hands. \nThe focus of the workshop is on observation and decision-making rather than technique. Participants may work in any medium they are comfortable with\, especially those that allow for quick coverage and bold mark-making. Participants will be guided step-by-step through the construction of their own mould and deckle\, and the process of papermaking using recycled paper-based materials. We will begin with the basic skills of making paper\, preparing pulp\, and forming sheets. Building upon this\, we will introduce techniques allowing you to expand your experimentation. You’ll learn about coloring paper\, embossing (creating relief images or designs in paper)\, changing texture through couching on alternative surfaces\, embedding (sandwiching materials between sheets)\, and inclusions (adding small objects\, flowers\, leaves\, glitter\, or colored pieces of paper). By the end of the workshop\, participants will have created a series of handmade papers and have their own mould and deckle to continue using for future papermaking projects at home.
