HOPE/HOPELESS | TDP GALLERY
SEPTEMBER 14 - OCTOBER 21, 2017

This new series, “Hope/Hopeless” reflects the complicated task of untangling my encounters with depression. Despondent emotions, feelings of helplessness and guilt, will often tether me to unstable ground. The dizzying effect of these thoughts cause me to fixate. So much so that I lose the light of Hope. There are also times when I do see the clearing in front of me, and yet I choose not to move toward it. Because depression can be a safe place to retreat from the world. A place where I do not have to admit or face certain fears within. These paintings reflect my personal experience, but I hope these images may shine a light upon your times of darkness and isolation.
