NEW THREADWORKS | TDP GALLERY
FEBRUARY 14 - MARCH 16, 2019

How do we know what we know? My work examines ideas involving perception, memory, and language. I create objects and installations that are visual abstractions of the things my mind clings to, the blurred outer edges of non-verbal thoughts. Frequently, I find myself returning to questions of space and the physical and psychological structures of site. I am interested in what feeds our understanding of things – how our bodies negotiate space, what our eyes perceive, and how our minds interpret and remember this information. I search for the subtle patterns that help us to understand our environments, and I am interested in how these underlying visual languages form our ideas of places and spaces, they way they take shape and continually morph. My work shares the quiet nuances and relationships I discover, offering new ways for the mind to wander.
