Clark Leonard

Clark Leonard is an ocean photographer with a passion for the textures that are created through light and water. Because he works primarily with digital cameras and waterproof housings, his photos offer a refreshingly unique perspective of the ocean.
Currently living in the Northwest Hills of Connecticut, Clark has called New England his home since 1994. Although he has no formal education in photography, he discovered the important role it played in his life over time through a deep love of the ocean and thousands of hours spent fully immersed. For the past four years, Clark has taken on photography as a full-time endeavor, freelancing his work for various companies in Connecticut with projects ranging from real estate to fashion. During this time, he has also established himself as a serious east coast surf photographer, and his work has been featured by several global surf brands, such as Surfline, TheInertia and Magicseaweed.
While he loves working with different companies and taking on new challenges addressing diverse artistic styles, Clark’s real passion lies directly in the ocean. He lives for the direct connection to the water with its ever-changing shapes, textures and connections and the sheer joy of being immersed. With an impressive catalog of works accumulated from a year of non-stop shooting, Clark is eager to share his vision with galleries and private collectors.
