Kathleen Schroeder’s printmaking work is focused on lithography and monotype, which she studied at both the Hartford Art School in West Hartford, Connecticut, and at the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kathleen’s print work has been exhibited widely in group shows as well as in a solo exhibition of lithographs at the Five Points Gallery in Torrington, Connecticut, in 2023. A solo exhibition of her monotypes and Bojagi-style handsewn prints is scheduled for the gallery in August 2026.
Kathleen graduated from the University of Wisconsin/Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in microbiology and then earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Minnesota in developmental biology. Kathleen also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, and worked as a health economics consultant in Washington, DC. Later, in a career transition, she studied printmaking and later taught at the Hartford Art School in the printmaking program. Kathleen also earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts, where her work was exhibited at the MassArt x SoWa gallery.
