In 2014, Lyell Castonguay and Carand Burnet founded BIG INK to foster a community of people who create large woodblock prints. Now, ten years later, they travel all over the country and continue to facilitate workshops nationwide, to encourage appreciation for woodblock printmaking: one impression at a time.
Sixteen submissions including three collaborative groups from Northwestern Regional 7 High School and Hartford Art School, will be participating in BIG INK. Each participant will print up to a 40”x96” carved woodblock on the legendary “Big Tuna” mobile press.
This two-day Print Festival is FREE and open to the public and will include other printmaking activities throughout the Art Center.
