Juror: Douglas Hyland
Douglas Hyland served as a director and curator at art museums across the nation for over forty years. He is currently director emeritus of the New Britain Museum of American Art. As Director, Hyland acquired several thousand artworks for the museum’s collection, the vast majority of which were contemporary examples by leading painters, sculptors, photographers, and mixed media artists, primarily from the northeast. The French government recognized his contributions to French arts and literature when they awarded him Le Chevalier De L’Ordre des Arts et Lettres. Hyland has served as a juror for numerous art exhibitions. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Pennsylvania and his doctorate is from the University of Delaware.
