Join photographer, David Ricci, for a public presentation discussing his book, “Hunter Gatherer: Salvaged Stories of American Culture.” This work contains nearly 100 photographs taken by Ricci over seven years spent traveling the country at antique fairs, curio shops, thrift stores and other resale marketplaces. These images cast a light on historical biases and stereotypes, and explore themes of consumerism, racism, objectification, beauty standards and popular culture.
Presented by Peter Waite

Five Points Arts Center
Free and open to the public
Following his successful solo exhibition: Social Memory: Paintings 1987 – 2025 at the Wadsworth Antheneum, Peter Waite will discuss his work and career at Five Points Arts Center.
This lecture is presented in tandem with a workshop instructed by the artist. Click below to learn more.
Peter Waite’s paintings invite us, in his own words, “to make the known unknown, and the ordinary extraordinary.” Though devoid of people, his architectural scenes are imbued with an uncanny feeling of presence, offering space for reflection on how memory, identity, and social rituals become embedded in the places we inhabit.
