Artists are invited to explore the ancient art of coiled basketry. The art of basket making can be used for the creation of daily utilitarian and decorative forms which could evolve into complex sculptural pieces. Basketry can be a very meditative and calming process; therefore, an energy exercise will also be introduced at the beginning of class. During this workshop, participants will be learning the figure eight and mariposa stitch to create a basket 6”x 6″ in class.
