Workshop Description
This workshop will introduce students to the process of tapestry weaving on a Harrisville frame loom. Participants will explore color, texture, and shape by learning a variety of tapestry weaving techniques and will leave the workshop with a completed tapestry.
Required Materials
- Cotton carpet warp yarn (Amazon, Webs, Halcyon)
- Worsted-weight wool or acrylic yarn in at least 3 colors you would like to work with (Red Heart, Wool of the Andes, etc.)
- Scissors
Instructor Bio
Sophia DeJesus-Sabella is a weaver based in Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated with
Honors in Fibers from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2019. She has been an
Open Studio Resident at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, where she will be returning as a
Studio Technician this summer. Her work is held in private collections across the nation.
